CULTURE
NEVER DIES
Lille provides a direct route to culture, both ancient and modern, thanks to its many museums, making the city a custodian of culture for all of Europe.
Vieux-Lille
This historic quarter full of red brick houses makes up the heart of the city. Our hostel is situated here just a few steps away from the Notre-Dame-de-la-Treille cathedral and La Vieille Bourse, so come enjoy a real local experience.
The Belfry
Built in a typically Northern style, the belfry of Lille’s Hôtel de Ville is the tallest in Europe. Built in 1932, its Art Deco and neo-Flemish inspiration makes it one of the city’s must-sees. If nothing else, it has also been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage monument. You can even take an elevator up to the top.
Beaux-Arts Museum
One of the largest museums in France, the post-French Revolution structure was built in 1792 and contains one of the greatest collections of fine art outside of Paris. The museum collections vary from the works of famous artists to local painters, sculptors, and sketch artists.
